Enabling 'Janet's Reflections' in Alexa
1. Using Voice Command
You can enable a skill directly by speaking to Alexa:
If this does not enable the skill then enable via the Amazon Website or Alexa mobile app
2. Using the Amazon Website
Step 1: Go to the Alexa Skills Store
Step 2: Sign in to Your Amazon Account
Step 3: Search and Enable the Skill
Tips
Skill Settings: After enabling a skill, you can manage its settings in the Alexa app under “Skills & Games” > “Your Skills.”
3. Using the Alexa App
Step 1: Open the Alexa App
Step 2: Navigate to "More"
Step 3: Tap “Skills & Games”
Step 4: Search for the Skill
Step 5: Enable the Skill

- Say: “Alexa, enable Janet's Reflections.”
- Alexa will confirm once the skill has been successfully enabled.
If this does not enable the skill then enable via the Amazon Website or Alexa mobile app

Step 1: Go to the Alexa Skills Store
Step 2: Sign in to Your Amazon Account
Step 3: Search and Enable the Skill
- Use the search bar to find your desired skill - search Janet's Reflections
- Click on the skill name 'Janet's Reflections', then click the “Enable” or 'Launch button.
Tips

3. Using the Alexa App
Step 1: Open the Alexa App
- Download the Amazon Alexa app from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android) if you haven’t already.
- Log in using your Amazon account.
Step 2: Navigate to "More"
- Tap the “More” icon (☰) in the bottom right corner.
Step 3: Tap “Skills & Games”
- This will open the Alexa Skills Store within the app.
Step 4: Search for the Skill
- Use the search bar at the top to find the skill by name - Janet's Reflections
- Tap on the skill from the search results.
Step 5: Enable the Skill
- Tap the “Enable to Use” or 'Launch' button.
Once enabled just say one of the following:
"Alexa, open janet's reflections"
"Alexa, ask janet's reflections for the latest talk"
"Alexa, start janet's reflections"
You can pause and play by saying "Alexa, pause" and "Alexa, resume." Just say "Alexa, stop" when you're done for the day. When listening to podcasts you can say "Alexa, shuffle" to shuffle the playing order, or "Alexa, loop" to loop the current episode. You can also ask for previous and next episodes by saying "Alexa, previous" and "Alexa, next".
