Initially due to be held on 7 June but the forecast was not good and so was postponed. A good call as that afternoon it poured with rain! So, 14 June was the date it was held instead. Although we were small in number, we managed to achieve a lot and the garden is looking a lot tidier. Two people who couldn’t attend on the Saturday came on the Friday and did loads in the Memorial Garden area. Ages of those who participated ranged from 21 to several in their 80s. Age is only a number! Some people came just for a few hours within the 10am to 4pm suggested whilst others managed to stay the whole time. We had lots of fun and laughter and it was certainly a worthwhile day of exercise. Another will be held at some stage as weeds do somehow grow all the time and shrubs need trimming back as well. The car park now has a little more ground showing with the edges cut back.

It was a very special time when we could spend leisurely time together, no rush, and a great opportunity to just be family with one another.
We intend to hold another garden party later but this time in our own church garden.
Pastor Janet has set up a new Spotify Podcast! It contains spiritual reflections on what life throws at us and how we can get a perspective on the world around us. Janet is the Pastor at Roborough Methodist Church in Plymouth. This podcast aims to reach out to people of all faiths and none, reflecting on something as small as a flower petal, or something as big as the conflicts in our world today. There are also abstract reflections on peace, worry and other things that affect us personally.
