Our Gift Day on Saturday 25th April was a great day, and money and promises of money were generously donated for the repair of our church hall roof and for necessary redecoration on the inside. We have sufficient funds now to have the work done and are currently waiting for the roofing contractor to have a slot to fit us in. Hopefully very soon now
We pray for God’s blessing on all those who donated so generously, those of our small congregation, family members of the people who first started this church fellowship, members of the community, organisations who use the building and even a company situated in Plymouth. We can look forward to a dry interior and a leak-free building. Thank you everyone!

There will be a Summer Afternoon Concert by The Moors Edge Singers at Roborough Methodist Church at 2pm Weds 22 July. This is directed and accompanied by Janet Dobinson.
There will be a program of popular songs related to the theme of 'colour' - along with other amusing and entertaining items! There will be a retiring collection in aid of church funds. Hope to see you there! Gift Day for the Roof Repairs 2pm-5pm On Saturday 25 April 2026 between 2pm and 5pm we will be hosting a Gift Day in aid of the very expensive roof repairs we have to undertake - amounting to £7000. We would be so very grateful for your support for this as this is such a lot of money for our relatively small church. Initially due to be held on 7 June but the forecast was not good and so was postponed. A good call as that afternoon it poured with rain! So, 14 June was the date it was held instead. Although we were small in number, we managed to achieve a lot and the garden is looking a lot tidier. Two people who couldn’t attend on the Saturday came on the Friday and did loads in the Memorial Garden area. Ages of those who participated ranged from 21 to several in their 80s. Age is only a number! Some people came just for a few hours within the 10am to 4pm suggested whilst others managed to stay the whole time. We had lots of fun and laughter and it was certainly a worthwhile day of exercise. Another will be held at some stage as weeds do somehow grow all the time and shrubs need trimming back as well. The car park now has a little more ground showing with the edges cut back.
It was a very special time when we could spend leisurely time together, no rush, and a great opportunity to just be family with one another.
We intend to hold another garden party later but this time in our own church garden.
Pastor Janet has set up a new Spotify Podcast! It contains spiritual reflections on what life throws at us and how we can get a perspective on the world around us. Janet is the Pastor at Roborough Methodist Church in Plymouth. This podcast aims to reach out to people of all faiths and none, reflecting on something as small as a flower petal, or something as big as the conflicts in our world today. There are also abstract reflections on peace, worry and other things that affect us personally.
